Default Nano 2

Please let me know how to reset a Nano 2 to the original factor settings using a computer with Windows 98. I am getting a display of C107 on the Nano 2. Thanks for any assistance.

Pals you tried to load the factory and the latest file to fix the c107 error with no luck.I did the research for you and found that if you change the bin extension npn to ups in the latest dongle file and load it with the I-Link loader that I told you to get. That may fix your receiver. If your windows 98 will not open the I-Link loader you need to go to a pc that will.If that doesn't work send your receiver back for repairs.

Default Nano 2

I renamed the latest Nano 2 factory file bin extension from NPN to UPS and loaded it on with the latest I-Link Loader. However, to make this work after turning on the receiver, you have to force load, then go to open button where the COM Port is and keep left clicking continously until green bar appears on the left side of loader. When green bar is full, receiver will be reset to original factory settings. Now, turn off receiver and then turn on for it to reboot, then load latest Nano 2 fix. Just to let you know that it is a tedious process and takes some patience to reset the receiver but it works.

Thanks to Ekim's patience and help this was possible.

Default freezing

I don't see much discussion here on the conaxsat. I have had mine for about two months and the freezing seems to be constant. I go way back in the hobby (to f cards with Dave) and have had a Blackbird, a couple of viewsats, a pansat 2500, two nfusions, and now the conaxsat. Is there a receiver out there that performs better? vegasjak

I guess #1 is SonySat after server upgrade, I-Link then Sonicview.I hear about receivers freezing and at the same time others working great. So my theory is internet is the biggest problem with freezing.

Default internet

I think you might be right on with the internet as the villain in the freezing problem. I changed my modem because the Nfusion was freezing and while the lights on the new modem stay lit my download speed seems to change with every download.
I have four TVs and the modem on my cable connection. Is there an amplifier that will give my modem a stronger signal up and down? vegasjak

Here is a C/P on a linksy router setup that may help stop some of the freezing. It may also be the same setup on other routers. Not sure about the ethernet amp.Maybe someone thats knows will jump in.

C/P
One of the first thing you may notice about IKS, is that if you are using other stuff on your network, epically out to the internet, you may experience more freezing. Gaming, big downloads, and voice chat and suck up a lot of bandwidth and cause delays for the box getting iks packets. I use Second Life a lot and it can pretty much kill IKS without some tweaking.

But, depending on your router, there is something you can do to help. For this I'm using a standard Linksys WRT54G. (You may be able to adapt this info for other units)

You will need to log in toe the routers setup pages. If you don't know how to do that already, don't even think about trying this.

Go to the "Applications & Gaming" tab, t he click "QoS" which is "Quality of Service"

Look at the "Ethernet Port Priority" section. Make sure floe control is on for all 4 ports. Then set the port you sat box is connect to "High" leaving the other three set "low". This tells the router that and network traffic for the device on the port set to 'high' gets priority over others. And hit SAVE

I also use "Device priority". You need to enter the device name, priority and MAC address. Priority should be set to Highest. You can get the name and MAC address from the status section, then go to 'local network' then click the "DHCP Clients Table" button. Copy the "client host name" and MAC address, then close thepop up window and go back to QoS and enter the info there. And be sure to SAVE the new setting.

While this won't help freezing causing at the server end or slow internet. It will help with in your own LAN. Once I did this it virtually ended all freeing that was happing during online gaming and stuff.

I looked up the website and I recognized the amplifier. Cox, my local carrier is using it on large houses. I just did an electrical repair on a 7000 sf house and there was one installed at the start of the cable system. The guy must have had ten televisions.
I am going to get it and I will report. The CNX has been working petty good today with frequent but short freezes. vegasjak
