Post Conaxsat Nano2--Using the PVR Functions

Conaxsat Nano2--Using the PVR Functions Very easy to do....and so nice to have....

To begin with, connect a USB 2.0 FAT32 formatted hard drive to the USB port. Could also use a USB thumb drive...as large as you can get.

To Format a Storage Device with the Nano2

Connect the storage device to the receiver. Press Menu and use the RIGHT ARROW to scroll over to the Utility Section. Then use the DOWN ARROW to scroll down to USB and press OK At the bottom of this box you will see a yellow button that says "Format"....press the YELLOW button...a notice will pop up asking if you want to Format USB....select YES...it only take a short time to format the device.

To record a program you are currently watching, simply press the RECORD button (gray button, bottom right corner, with red dot). Press the Stop button if you wish to stop recording.

TO SET UP A RECORDING

there are a couple of ways...

(1.) From the Guide

Open the guide. Hi-lite the program you wish to record. Press the Record Button(gray button, bottom right corner, with red dot) and a red dot will appear. The receiver will automatically go to this program and start recording when it is time for the program to come on. When the program is over, the receiver will stop recording.

If you decide you do not wish to record this program after you set it to record, just go back to it in the guide and press the Record Button twice and the red dot will go away.

or

(2.) Use the Timer Manager Functions

To do this, press Menu and use the RIGHT ARROW to scroll over to the Utility menu. Use the DOWN ARROW to hi-lite "Time Record" and press the OK button. You can schedule up to 10 recordings.

Enter the number for the sequence you wish to record in.
Next set Enable to YES. The other options should become available now.
Select the TYPE you wish to use....to record once, daily, weekly, weekdays or weekends.
Complete the rest of the options as you are prompted.

Once you have this set up, press EXIT on the remote. The recording is now scheduled to begin at the time you set it for on the assigned date and channel.

If you decide you do not want to use this program you set up, go back to the Time Record screen, select the one you do not want to record and change Enable to NO.

While the receiver is recording, you will not be able to change the channel or use any other functions of the remote except the STOP button (gray button with a square) and the volume buttons.

TO WATCH RECORDED SHOWS

Once again there are a couple of ways to access recorded material.

(1.) Press the PLAY button (gray button with triangle, bottom row). This will open a window that lists all of the recorded programs on the storage device. The files should end in .ts.
To watch one of the files, use the up or down arrow button to hi-lite the one you wish to watch and press OK. The file will start playing. Press OK or PLAY a second time and it will exit to full screen viewing. While watching a recorded program, you can use the fast forward, rewind, pause and stop buttons just like you would on a VCR.

or

(2.) Press menu and scroll over to the Utility menu. This will take you to the File List window that you accessed in number 1 above.

From the File List window you can manage the recorded files.

If you wish to delete only selected files, with the File List window open, select the file you wish to delete and press the BLUE button and follow the prompts.
If you want to delete them all at once, press the YELLOW button to reformat the storage device and all recorded files will be deleted and the storage device will be reformatted.

Once you delete the files by either of these methods, they CANNOT be recovered.
