 Problem downloading new TP for coolsat 5000
Hi I am having a problem installing the file to fix the TP problem with the coolsat 5000 receiver. My computer will not recognize the box maybe??? I set up the pro loader like it says and hit connect and all it does is sit here. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I dont know your receiver so all I can do is suggest.Have you loaded fixes before?Try flipping main power switch back and forth and see if that triggers download.It may load like a factory file in another place other then where you load fixes.

Is your CS 5000 original or a clone? This file only works for original Coolsat receivers. Try a receiver rear switch boot when it is powered up. Leave it off for a couple of minutes, turn back on. Try loading the file again.Follow all the steps carefully when loading the file, make sure it's unzipped.

| still have problem
I am unable to load anything. I just got a new computer and am unable to get it to read the box through the USB. My computer keeps trying to install the box to it but I have no install file. Any Ideas? Thanks.

How are you connecting receiver to pc?

Believe it or not, I actually had the same problem with a CS5000, turned out to be a bad cable. If you can find another one it's worth a shot. ( The cable in question was the new one that came with the receiver. ) Last edited by fatboy; 01-17-2009 at 12:51 PM. |

Yes it worked with old computer. I am using a 9 pin to usb adapter and plugging it into the front of my computer. I use my dads computer which is my old one and it still works but that is an 2 hours away and inconvienent. Any ideas? Thanks.

Try changing your comm port setting one at a time to see if it download to your receiver.If not you'll need a usb adapter driver to give you comm port activity.You can buy a usb adapter and disc driver together and they work pretty good.

What exatly do you mean usb adapter and disk driver? Can you possibly give me a link to something like this or explain more? Than you very much!
