Default Default Software

Ok, so i figured i would load the default software, reset my receiver to factory default and start from scratch. Bad idea.
Now i cant get it to recognize my .sgn files. Ive formatted my disk drive and added the fix files, but it will not recognize them. Is there software im missing that i have to load first, before the receiver will recognize these files?

If anyone has step by step programming from out of the box new, or a link to such, that would be great.
Thanks.

freewill240 you need to make sure you rename the file after you put it on your usb stick. Follow set up below, let us know if this works and your up and running

Download the latest firmware.
Unzip the downloaded firmware.
Copy the .sgn file to your USB HD or memory stick.
Rename the .sgn file to _sw_code.sgn
On your Receiver Goto Advanced -> USB Transfer -> Main S/W -> USB to STB (Push OK)
Answer Yes
Your Done!

For some reason, mine only reads it when named as : _sw_code

with no .sgn

But i did get it to read by using another flash drive. All is well, i broke the other one anyway.

Now just find the right birds, and ill be good. maybe.

Default Hope your up and running soon :)

freewill240 glad you got it to read on another flash drive, those silly computers lol It is good to work with one bird at a time without the diseqc switch hooked up outside, make sure receiver is always off by the switch on the back when unhooking cable at times. Not sure what type of dish you have, but if two head lnb, and facing it 110 is on the left and 119 on the right, start off with 119 and home it in first, they are about 9 degree apart in the sky and if you get 119 in, you are either right on both birds or just a little moving the dish and 110 will come right in. (very little) You have the tone on your receiver that will let you know when you hit the bird in the sky, just remember that when you switch your cable over to 110 after you get 119 homed in that your receiver is turned off by switch on back, once you hook that cable back up from lnb straight to receiver then turn receiver back on and go into menu and to set up and select your bird and see if you hit S & Q make sure you get over 80 on both, make sure you change your tp freg. to 12239 for 119 when homing it in, it will default back to 12224 when you exit out, that is ok, it will be 12224 for 110, write your ports down out side for diseqc switch so you can enter them right in set up if you are using a diseqc switch. Let us know if you get up and running

I took the 3 lnb set up off, and used just one. I have homed in on 110. 99% signal strength on the quality side. i got perfect picture on the channels not scrambled.

As soon as i get time i plan to reattach the 3lnb bar, and try to skew it to pick up 119 and 129. Im going to install a new disecq switch too, because i think there is something wrong with mine. As soon as i do i will repost.

Thanks for all your help.
