| Here I c/p from another site. is this what your looking for? plus you have to buy the hub The KBox Plus comes packaged with the standard items that you would get with any STB purchase: - a KBox Universal Remote Control well laid out that fits nicely in one’s hand, Batteries, a short straight RS-232 Cable that goes between the Khub and the receiver, RCA Cables and Instruction Manual for the receiver and User Manual for the Khub. The unit has a card reader slot but no actual reader. The 4x1 Diseqc switch was not included. It would be recommended that you obtain a heavy duty outdoor Chieta or Zion switches which are much more reliable. Although I have no previous experience with the Kbox Hero I am informed that when you upgrade from the hero to the plus you also lose all of your pvr functions. Also if you send you unit in for exchange do not expect to get the same box back after the chip upgrade. You may want to obtain a longer Straight RS-232 Cable if you are going to be moving the receiver to your pc for upgrades. Also, for the Khub you will need a NULL cable, not a straight cable to update the khub sw. Another thing to remember is that you must use K1plus files so be careful about which file section you download from. The new KBox Plus offers excellent viewing quality as a standalone unit or when using in IKS mode from a single file. It offers 32 meg of SDRam memory and boasts an MP3 player, calculator and games. The menus are clear and crisp and the antenna setup is easy to work with. The unit almost sets its self up for you. Set Up takes about 10 minutes including connection of the added K-Hub. When you first turn the receiver on you will see the Main Menu. You will see Installation, Configuration, Channel List and Utilities as the four main Categories. The default Master Code is “0000” for any changes that you will want to make when you access the Menu. If you change that code, make sure you write it down or store it on a disk someplace so you can find it again when your memory fades. I only plan on running the kbox in standalone mode and only tested the IKS capability briefly to see if it would work. After some trial and error I managed to get a green light. I noticed that the receiver already comes with the factory bin loaded so I just loaded the beta bin and later upgraded to the current working bin which seems to be very stable in both modes. When changing from one mode to another the picture comes in quickly. You will only have to set up your IKS once and when using it you will have to ensure that you have auto roll off for both providers and switch to network. When returning to stanalone mode remember to turn the autoroll for both providers back on. After updating I went into Installation and entered the settings for the sat that I am pointed to, exited and saved and then rebooted again. Under Configuration you have access to Time Settings, A/V, Parental Control (Where you can set access by Age), System Recovery and Network Settings where you set up your network settings. I set up my network settings using the following method: Using a Linksys 4 port wireless router and Linksys wireless bridge. 1. Fired up Network Magic and verified that network was functioning properly. Also made a note of the ip addy for the wirless router. 2. Reran the ipconfig /all command and made notes. 3. Went into config and changed to iks and AR OFF for both providers. 4. Went into Installation - Option and changed to Static. 5. Changed to: * 192.168.1.10x * 255.255.255.0 * 192.168.1.1 * 4.2.2.2 * Wireless router IP addy then exit and save 6. Reboot the receiver using the switch on it. 7. Use the remote and turn the box off then on and wait till the green light appears on the khub Under Channel List you can Set Favorites and edit channels. Under Utilities you can access your MP3 player, Image Viewer, Transfer Data to and from your USB stick and access System Information. Main Menu has 4 Sections: Installation ![]() • Dish Settings This is where you select/view/scan/rename your sat, turn lnb power on/off,diseqc port settings • Positioner Settings • Auto Scan • Blind Scan • Manual Scan • Option Configuration ![]() • Time Settings • A/V Output Settings • UI Settings • Parental Control • System Recovery • Network Settings Channel List ![]() • Set Favorites • Edit Channels Utilities ![]() • MP3 Player • Image Viewer • Data Transfer (To and From USB Stick) • System Information What I Liked: • Extremely high picture quality. • Lightning fast sat scans. • System Recovery. • USB Port Access for the the Data Transfer Function for current state system data storage. • Ease of switching between standalone and network. What I didn’t Like: • Constant freezing when using the Pic In Pic function - a royal pain • Lack of a second longer RS-232 Cable for STB to PC upgrades - I had to purchase one for PC use • Inability to perform upgrades over the network • Missing Search function - shown in manual but it is not on the main screen. • Shortness of the EPG • Missing calendar, calculator and games - If it's in the manual it should be available. Overall I would currently give this receiver a 5 out of 10 until such time as the inequities are resolved.

Yup KBox is taking care of their customers better then any other brand out there. Even though they are fairly new brand they are making their way to the top very quickly.
