How do you all feel about this facebook thing? I'm thinking this is what is giving me some unwanted spyware! I noticed it last night when I was posting on this website in the Last One Wins section! When I typed it placed links... this is not what I want! Is there a some way of controlling this from getting into my system? I have Norton security... its' just not as effective as I want. Any sugeestions on how I can protect my computer a lot better?

Avast has a antivirus and spyware remover for home use for free.I stay away from Facebook and My Space.

my old desk top crashed because of MySpace! Or so I say it did... it only took one time to log in... and bam! All shit hit the fan! Of course it was an old system and I invested in a new one.., whichis what I work on now! So I do want to watch it more closely with this new one! Facebook has put some funky crap into my system and I've been able to weed it out... well, at least the ones I can get to! LOL What I don't see or detect could be the death of my system! I do like my facebook but I limit myself to certain games... I'm very leary about adding too many applications! I'll try the Avast! Best buy sold me a security software for my laptop that I wouldn't give you two cents for! My laptop is just about redy for the grave yard! LOL

My pc is a 2000 to tell you how old it is.I don't like adding stuff to my pc either and I hate the fact my pc is upgraded as much as it can be.My pc locked up a couple times and avast that San gave me fixes about anything.You run it about like a defrager.

You have to be careful with facebook and don't install all those plug ins etc. games like farm ville won't hurt your pc, my wife is a facebook junkie and i scan her pc once a week and no problems so far.Avast is very good free anti virus program but it will not remove spy ware and ad aware. You can download Avast or keep Norton and install these 2 programs and you should be fine, i am using them my self and so far so good.
