Is there any word on if/when nfusion will be back up?

Should I put it back in the box and buy something that works

If Yes, any suggestions on which unit is best?

Need some help from one of the Pro's out there.

I would be looking to get another sub for now.IMO the Conaxsat Nano2 is at the top at this time.You know how that goes.My second choice would be KBox it looks like there coming back strong.

there are a hand full of iks receiver that are up and down with free service. some iks receivers are up more than others. do your homework as witch one is better for you. some you have to purchase a dongle switch seperate. a few have the switch included inside the box. only a few stay up 99 % of the time. conaxsat is one that is up and good. sonicview is still good but has been down for awhile. and then there are new ones,but those are still in the break in stages. servers support more than one receiver.cnx nano2 is their newest. i like the older conaxsat dou and trio.please be prepared to spend some cash and have high speed internet for your hobby. good luck.
