Default loading a pansat 2500

can anyone please tell me how to get a usb to serial adaptor to work when loading a file to a pansat 2500A. I am using a straight through cable and Blacklist STB Updater 1.4.0.0. It used to work fine from my old PC with a serial port, but now all I have is a laptop with a USB to serial port adaptor.
Any help would be great.

It should work the same just the port will be different, try all ports one should work. If not you may need to install a USB to serial driver.

Here is the link on how to do that: How to set up a USB to Serial Drivers for XP, Vista, Vista2

It's done basically the same way, the only difference is plug in on your laptop procedure is the same. You need to find out which port is open on your laptop and select that port when loading files. Here is a link for the program that shows you which port is open on your laptop.

Here is the link >>> Use this program to see which if any ports are open

Did you check what port is open, that program will tell you which port is open and after you open the loader select that port.

Thanks, I checked to see what ports are open, and #2 shows open but it still doesn't work. I tried programming my neighbours viewsat extreme using my computer and USB/serial adaptor with his cable and everything works fine. Is it possible that this type of adaptor won't work with the straight through cable? the apadtor is a (Cables To Go) model #26886

You might have to install the driver, give it a shoot and see if that works. Here is a link that might help you out >>> How to set up a USB to Serial Drivers for XP, Vista, Vista2
