Default SuperCharge your Sonicview 1000 Remote

I have recently performed this simple mod, and the communication between my remote and STB has been vastly improved.
Before,I had to turn the STB toward the primary person using the remote to get it to work right. Afterwards, you can even aim the remote on the backwall and it works, and faster!

What you need.
1. Twenty Minutes of your time.
2. Phillips Screw Driver.

What to do:

1. Un-plug your STB from all cables, and most importantly its power source.

2. The top of the STB has a cover on it that is secured with Three screws. One on each side, and one in the middle on the back. Remove them, and put them aside.

3. Gently remove the top cover.

4. Looking at the STB from the top; locate the front of the unit, from the inside, where the display is. This board is secured with four screws.

5. Carefully remove all four screws, and gently pull the board towards you. Turn the board, so that, it is facing up. Note, these screws are different than the Three that are used to secure the lid, or cover, so don't mix them together, and make sure they go back exactly where you removed them from. The board has six holes in it, but only four are used to secure it.

6. On the board locate the remote sensor. It is located to the left of the numeric display.

7. If you look at the sensor, and then at the board you will see that the sensor sits higher than the printed outline on the board. Gently move the sensor down, so that, it sits within the printed square on the board.

8. Put everything back in the reverse order of disassembly.

9. Now you will see a vast improvement in the way the remote communicates with the STB.
