Sat file for 72 (Nimiq5) and 77. Correct channel names SV 8000



Here is a new sat file with the latest 72.7 transponder changes. It also has the correct channel names for 72.7 and 77. And has the sid number in front of the channel name. It also renames the sat 72.7 to its new name (Nimiq5).

Note that when you hit 72.7 with this file it actually will display "AMC6" in the top right of the settings screen. This is normal for now. It is a bug with the current ihub bins so hopefully it will be addresses in the near future. It does not affect the working of the satellite though.

This file will work with ihub software installed.

***Updating a "sat" file WILL wipe your current information. It is VERY IMPORTANT to either back up your settings, to a bin file, in case anything goes wrong BEFORE installing any file to the SV8000. Also jot down all of your settings prior to loading any files so that you can easily set up your receiver again. The most important settings to jot down are, LNB type, What sat you are pointed to, and the port setting for each satellite. This is even more important for those of you with motorized set ups.***

How to back up your settings.

This is useful for several reasons. First of all it is always good to have a back up in case you have problems with your SV8000.

You can also edit the file created in Channel Master.

It is also useful if you want to "Test" new settings or rescan your sats for new/deleted channels and transponders.

I personally also use it for reinstalling my settings after a new bin installation. What I do is install a new bin then reboot the box (as recommended). Then I do a factory reset and then reinstall my old settings. The old settings then work with the new bin in the "background". In other words, when you save your settings you are only saving the sat settings, LNB, switch settings, channel settings, so your old configuration is good with the new bin loaded, "inside" the memory of the box.

To be honest I am not sure if this is overkill, but I have very little problems, that most seem to be experiencing at the moment. I maybe just lucky, but there just might be a reason I am "lucky" too.

To save your settings simply follow the steps.
Make sure you have a USB drive connected to the SV8000. Either a HDD or a Flash drive will do.

Select Menu on your remote
Scroll to USB
USB file list
Enter
Press Green button
Scroll to new folder
(Create the new folder outside the SVHD_VIDEO folder)
Enter
Press Red button
scroll to OK
(You can rename the file to whatever you want, but I leave it as HD8000Chan.bin)
Exit.

You have successfully backed up your settings

To reinstall your old settings from your file
Select Menu
Scroll to USB
USB file list
Enter
scroll to the New Folder you made
Enter
Scroll to the bin file you made
Enter
Select S/W Update
Enter
When prompted to reboot select Yes.

You now have all the old settings that worked good for you with the latest bin file installed.

The only settings not saved are the Time so you need to adjust the time for your region. Also the A/V settings may have defaulted so you may need to set those back to your own settings again.

Depending on what sats you have I would recommend sitting on an EPG channel for a few minutes, in order for the information to populate.
