Default Dns fail

What would cause a SV8000HD to say at the IP configuration " DNS FAIL " but when it is connected to one of the port behind my lynksis router but when the cat5 cable is direct from the modem it works perfrctly.Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Turn off everything.Bootup modem then router then receiver last.

try changing ip config , setting it to static, see if this can help with connction ..

Default sv elite DNS FAIL

I had the same issue with the DNS FAIL, I tried what was suggested on Saturday, but now the same thing, I know the net is working as i can use the lap top on that cable, and idea's would be appreciated.

go to your network internet options in control panel of pc in your exceptions list do u see wiznet in the list if not ur firewall is blocking wiznet and your not talking to the server your just seeing it also go into wiznet and check use dns box....

What I have seen from the dns fail is the reveivers dns ip was not the same as pc's and it should be.Change it then reboot internet then receiver.
