A friend just got a New Sonicview 360 Premier. He is using the Dish 1000.2, he scanned satellites, found all his channels, then he did the software update. All his channels are in the guide but every time he goes to one it keeps telling him no service or scrambled. What is he doing wrong?

Maybe the auto roll is not on, did he use the last available fix?

Alright, hes up and running but all the channels are freezing every 15 seconds or so. They will freeze for at least 45 seconds. Is there a new fix in the works or is just a problem he is having?

The latest fix is working just fine, tell him to turn it OFF and back ON using the switch in the back and see if that works.

Nope, still no luck. He has turned off the receiver off for at least 5 seconds and turned back on. All channels are still doing the same. Now when he puts the usb in the front or back, it wont read it. He was going to do the factory reset fix but cant get it to read the memory stick.

He should do factory reset then, it's done using remote control and if he can access his Menu option he should be able to do it. After factory reset load factory file then the latest fix.

Alright update for this receiver issue. He brought the receiver to me and I hooked it up to my Dish 1000. The Factory Reset was done by remote. We scanned both 119 and 110, made sure all settings were as they should. Once the scan was complete, the guide came up and picture came up but still freezing every 10 seconds. We did a hard reboot, and still nothing. We even put it on an Adult channel and when we put in the code (0000) to view the locked channel, the receiver reset itself / on its on? Now we had to go in and reset the time / date again, and the channels are still freezing. I even tried to insert the USB key and everytime you go to PVR and choose Front, it just goes back to the menu instead of searching for device or doing anything. This is very odd, I have never seen one does this. Is the receiver bad?

It could be something wrong with the receiver but if channels came in after the scan it's possible that the settings are wrong. Is the Auto Roll option ON?
I wouldn't bother with Adult channels they moved to N3 and will not work anyways.

Yes, the auto roll option is on and still the same thing. We checked that, turned receiver off with remote, turned receiver off from rear power button, turned everything back on, and still the same thing. The pictures keeps freezing up every 10 seconds, and if you bring up the guide and choose another channel, it has no signal at first. You can go to the menu and dish settings, turn the lnb power off and then back on, and the Quality comes back up. Now when you exit out to channel, you get picture, but again the freezing starts after 10 seconds.

How is the signal strength? If the signal is week you may experience problems like that or maybe a bad cable.
