Default New Ihub, old reciever

Good afternoon, finally I have stepped up to the 20th century, I now have high speed internet. I have 2 sv8000hd, they went down when the transitions started. Question: I now have an Ihub, I was told I needed to "flash" it. Can someone led me down the right path, what does flash mean & where can I find the proper file to load into the Ihub. Also do I need to do anything with the recievers.
Thanks very much.
