After last week DN play around with TP a new error popped up.

For 360's users it's called " update sw ", for 8K users it's called " channel change error ".

There's been reported may fixes or workarounds including deletion of TP's from sats.

This workaround comes with loss of multiple channels and recently it was discovered that not only that one TP on that one sat is causing the issue, but multiple TP's on most of the sat's.

For a list of affected channels consult EPG list at the bottom of this post.

Another workaround would be to edit your current channel list with all sats and all TP, delete all channels bellow 101 so that 101 is top of the list when you press 1.

Even if you land on a channel that has a issue ( 200 is one of them ) the only way out is by a reboot.

After reboot when first picture pops up quickly press 1 and OK, key here is to press it BEFORE " network adapter connected " message is displayed.

Once sitting on 101 there should be no problem surfing to any other channel.

Check the list in EPG bellow for affected channels BEFORE you go there as the only way out is a reboot.

This list now includes Echost*r 6 72.7 and Anik 118.8. 77W Does not carry an EPG transponder at the moment.

This guide is useful if you do not have certain channels (you may have deleted some because they are not required) it gives a list for all the available channels on each sat. So you should have at least one that you can access to get good EPG.

Here are all the latest channels and transponder information for updating your EPG for DN and B*V. Please try to read and attempt to try updating your EPG before posting in the forums.
There are a few guides about updating the EPG for Sonicview 8000. I recently tried all the ones posted and found them to work most of the time. However since adding DN to my B*V setup I haven't had both updated together using the guides. The guides assume you have most channels and most sats too. So here is a list of channels that will bring in the guides for both B*V and DN on all popular sats and it works.
For some reason unknown to me, populating the EPG just seems to work better on some channels than on others.
Here is a summary of the Channels that seem to work best for both DN and BEV .
Note: Using any of these channels will provide you with extended EPG data for any/all DN sats.
The Channel names and numbers may differ from your own.

Let it sit on one channel and then epg will populate (usually within 5 minutes)

If you still get no information see note at bottom of list.

Note:If (after trying to update using any of the above channels) you still do not have any EPG information showing, I would HIGHLY recommend a factory reset and rescan the satellites you need. This should correct any EPG problems. If you have duplicate channels the "duped" channels will not populate. Be careful not to delete the "Good" duped channel or the EPG will never populate on that particular channel, and a factory reset will be the only option to get the EPG back.

*The EPG can act erratically if you have used Channelmaster to create your own Fav lists and other edits. If this is the case then the best option is to follow the steps above.*

Here is another way around the problem.Delete tp's 12472 and 12486 on 119.Delete tp 12516 on 110.You will lose about 30 cnls,10 of them are of quality viewing IMO.Hopefully a fix is on its way for sv owners.

My 360 elite seems to be stuck on chan. 200. No matter which buttons I push. If I enter chan. 122 the display still shows 200. So now what would you suggest?

forget it they are screwing more channels as we speak we need a new file ! this is not working!

Reboot receiver and change cnl fast before "network adapter connect" message appears.It works for now on cnls dn hasn't messed with yet.


Another way but its a pain, think of what channel you would like it to sit on, rear power OFF, disconnect sat and cat5 cable, power ON, tune to that ch, rear power OFF, reconnect cables, power ON and let it sit there.Within 2 min after it comes on you won't be able to leave that channel.Repeat to change cnl.


We are going to need a new fix.

That worked and yes it may be a pain but thats ok what a small price to pay for a little laughter.

Hopefully a new fix will be out soon and will fix this issue.

Update :

As everybody noticed yesterday workaround isn't working today .....
So new challenge.
1) Factory reset and rescan all sats with all TP
2) Save your channel list on USB stick, leave USB plugged in
3) Reboot from rear switch
4) Before "network adapter connected" pops up punch the number of the channel you want.

if successful you'll land and watch the channel you picked, if unsuccessful upload the channel list from USB, the unit will reboot and you may try again without rebooting it manually follow step 4.
same applies for normal channel change, reload the channel list, unit reboots, quickly punch in new numbers ( step 4 ).
at least no need to leave the couch and go behind unit.

Why would you save your channel list on a usb? If you are doing a rescan wouldnt that give you a channel list?
