I bought a Viewsat VS2000 Ultra about a year ago, and my use of it was rather short lived. Well you know that.
Anyway, I am still trying to get my head around this IKS concept since it is unavailable to me with the current make and model, and also because I am not ready to invest more money in another receiver that is IKS ready just to find out that it ends up as useful to me as my relatively new VS2000. I have been reading some of the posts here, and if I understand it right, my channels are dark due to some matter of personal pride with the guys at Viewsat believing that IKS is a dark and dirty path to go down.

My thinking is, well it may be dark and dirty, but where are you with your file sharing method Viewsat?

So I am looking for an opinion, should I see if anybody will give me .10 cents for my VS2000 in my next yard sale and get myself an STB that works via IKS, or do I hold on for a while longer?

The Viewsat camp was or is in trouble.There is no working IKS solution for your receiver at this time.If Viewsat started IKS now it would be more than likey be a private party and you would pay as you go monthly fee.Not sure if this were to happen if the Ultra would support it.As far as fixes for your receiver goes no one has any non IKS standalone fixes except Telefonica which is for S.America only.For now hang on to the Ultra.If you want a IKS receiver go with KBox first then Conaxsat or Sonicview.I would have said nFusion as my first choice but there in the dark now as well.
