I have a Viewsat Ultra and my dongle is on it's way. What programs do I need to clean up my veiwsat so when my dongle come in all I have to do is program it? I look for the factory bin VIEWSAT_ULTRA _V0146 but couldn't find it. Please help!!!!

Once my Viewsat is up and running, if it ever go down will I be able to use the USB Drive to program it or it is no longer needed?

I am getting ready to order a ethernet cable for ($6.00 off ebay 50ft) is this the right one listed below:

To clean up all the crap off my veiwsat rec. Can I do just a factory default or I have to do a factory default and then run the factory bin viewsat ultra v0146.pgm?

All you need to do is a factory default.Load WF factory file and then the latest WF dongle/fix file.Setup user and dish settings and scan sats.

A factory default will not erase s/w/fixes.Load WF factory file then the latest WF dongle file.Then setup user settings/time and sats.

Therfore listed below are the instruction that I need to follow to clean up my rec

Steps:

1. Clean up house: Factory default -will erase all the crap you currently have. You will have to do sat scans at the end. Just erase.
Main menu --> system info ---> Factory default-->ok
2. Find the factory bin VIEWSAT_ULTRA_V0146.PGM and flash it onto your desktop, most likely via winrar. Drag it out of winrar window onto your desktop.
3. Now the factory bin is on your computer desktop, VIEWSAT_ULTRA_V0146.PGM, and connect -via (null modem) serial cable- your computer to the back of your stb. BTW serial cable comes w/ the STB when u buy it. If you comp is newer may not have the serial hub.
4. Bring in your loader 2.0 (loader 1.1 may not work) into your desktop and install it in your programs or accessories.
5. Turn on Loader app and select VIEWSAT_ULTRA_V0146.PGM into your loader and -with your stb turned off from the back button- press on PC to STB, wait one second and turn your stb back on from the back button. After 5-10 minutes you will see the i.n.s.t being displayed or 0000. Your stb will reboot and wait till it finishes.

It would make things simple if you use usb drive to program your receiver not the pc loader.

So are you saying after I connect my rec to the tv, do a Factory default then use my usb drive and load the factory bin VIEWSAT_ULTRA_V0146.PGM. Then also use my usb drive to load the WF fix and the bin fix
